The Story of Curious People

The Journey

2015: I discovered my love for cooking, though I was raised around strong, inspiring women who happen to be ridiculously good home chefs.

2020: In the middle of a global pandemic, I began selling small batches of coriander chutney to friends.

2023: I took a break from my day job, to rent a commercial kitchen and exhibit at a few Christmas Markets.

2024: Expanding my product range range we well as the start of community dinners experience authentic to me at Cornershop.

Purpose & Vision

Over my years living in Sweden, I’ve found myself often explaining the vast nuances in Indian food and food culture – the how, what and why of eating. In the same breath, I’ve been disappointed with the Indian food scene in Sweden, being riddled with misconceptions and reducing it to unhealthy, spicy and oily.

As a vegan creator and food lover of Indian origin, I believe its important for us (people of colour) to own the narrative, drawing from our lived experiences - sharing not just the ingredients or recipes but also the rich history, traditions and people behind it.

With this project, I aim to challenge stereotypes, produce & promote whole-food-plant-based regional Indian condiments that can be adapted to a Scandinavian kitchen and lift food stories from the Indian subcontinent.

My vision is that everything I offer is always 100% plant based, rooted in local Indian tradition, but has the versatility to pair with whatever cuisine you might experiment with at home.
