Impatiently Human
Impatiently Human was a social project co-hosted by Akvile M. and me, organising gatherings that nurture a social health practice — one built on deep listening, thoughtful storytelling, and the simple value of being present with others.

CHALLENGE
The gatherings were designed for people who crave more than small talk — spaces where participants could challenge and be challenged, walking away with new insight, a fresh perspective, or a genuine connection. Creating the right depth of conversation depended heavily on who was in the room, making participant selection a critical part of the design. This mattered particularly in the Swedish context, where cultural restraint, prevalent loneliness, and the added difficulty of building deeper connections as a foreigner all shaped the need for the project.
SOLUTIONS
We built the concept around the "hot seat" format and storytelling, drawing on storytelling traditions from around the world, IRL communities, and third spaces as inspiration. Each session centred on a "storyteller" — someone with a compelling point of view or life experience, big or small — who shared their story, followed by open discussion with the full group.
